At the 3rd Singapore-China Green Development Forum in Xiong’an New Area on 15 September, Ar. Tan Shao Yen, Group Chief Executive Officer of CPG Corporation, took part in a panel discussion on “China–Singapore Cooperation to Empower the Green and Low-Carbon Transition of Belt and Road Partner Countries”.

Bringing together industry leaders from China and Singapore, the panel explored how cross-border cooperation could support greener, lower-carbon development across Belt and Road partner countries. Drawing on CPG’s extensive track record across diverse markets, Shao Yen highlighted the importance of developing solutions that respond to local conditions and priorities.

“Green and low-carbon development cannot be advanced simply by replicating a set of indicators or export individual technologies. What is more important is to help local stakeholders establish a mechanism for setting goals, translating them into action and continually refining their approach,” said Shao Yen.

Using Singapore’s development journey as an example, he shared how planning and standards can guide implementation, with data and feedback supporting improvement over time. He also added that solutions need to be practical to build, operate and maintain within their local context.

Our annual CPG x SWAP is back, bringing colleagues together to exchange pre-loved items and give them a new lease of life.

By choosing to swap instead of toss, we extend the lifespan of usable items and reduce the need for new production, along with the associated carbon emissions, water use and resource consumption. SWAP also encourages more mindful consumption, helping us make better use of what we already have and avoid unnecessary waste.

As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, items that were not exchanged were donated to the MINDS thrift shop, supporting vocational training and social integration for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Thank you to everyone who took part and helped make this year’s SWAP another successful effort to share resources and reduce waste. We look forward to doing it all over again next year! ♻️

Building a sustainable talent pipeline begins with how organisations develop and empower their people today.

At NVPC’s Build with Purpose session on “Securing a Sustainable Talent Pipeline”, Alan Goh, Chief Executive Officer of CPG Facilities Management (CPG FM), shared his views on preparing people to grow into leadership roles.

“Developing future leaders requires both trust and a clear pathway for growth,” Alan shared. “At CPG FM, we have a structured development pathway through which our people are mentored as they progress towards business leadership, with a focus on greater ownership, independent decision making, strategic judgement and leadership capabilities.”

The session also brought together organisations from across the built environment sector to exchange perspectives and experiences on developing talent and strengthening the workforce.

Thank you to NVPC for creating this platform for shared learning and dialogue across the sector.

The P*DA20: Power of Singapore Design exhibition brings together two decades of works recognised by the President*s Design Award (P*DA), Singapore’s highest national accolade for design. Celebrating the power of design to shape Singapore and the way we live, the exhibition showcases the people and ideas behind projects that have contributed to the nation’s design story.

CPG Consultants is honoured that Khoo Teck Puat Hospital is featured in P*DA20. Designed by CPG in collaboration with Hillier Architects (now RMJM), the hospital reimagines the healthcare environment by bringing nature into the healing experience. Visitors can view its architectural model and learn more about the design thinking behind this award-winning project.

Khoo Teck Puat Hospital is one of five P*DA recognised projects led by CPG Consultants, spanning healthcare, cultural, civic infrastructure and public spaces:

2008 – National Museum of Singapore
2011 – Khoo Teck Puat Hospital
2013 – Gardens by the Bay
2015 – National Gallery Singapore
2023 – State Courts Towers

Together, these projects reflect the breadth of our work and our commitment to creating spaces that serve people and communities over time.

Our CPG Consultants’ Civil & Structural Engineering team stepped away from their usual work to spend an afternoon with seniors at Adventist Nursing & Rehabilitation Centre (ANRC). Visits like these allow our colleagues to contribute beyond their professional roles and connect with the wider community, making a difference in small but meaningful ways.

The session brought together the team and residents through a mix of Bingo, sing-alongs and casual conversations. From cheering each other on during Bingo to singing along to familiar tunes and exchanging stories, the afternoon was filled with lively conversations, laughter and plenty of smiles.

Beyond the activities, the visit offered the team a different perspective and a reminder that the built environment is ultimately about the people who use and experience these spaces every day.

CPG Corporation’s Deputy Group CEO, Mr Tan Cheng Chuah, joined Minister for National Development, Mr Chee Hong Tat and industry representatives at the launch of the Job Redesign CORENET X Starter Kit at BEX Asia 2026.

Developed by Singapore Polytechnic and industry partners, the Starter Kit provides a practical framework for Built Environment companies to prepare their workforce for CORENET X implementation. CPG was one of 15 companies that worked with Singapore Polytechnic as part of the project to redesign key roles involved in CORENET X processes, identify future skills, develop learning and development plans, and strengthen multidisciplinary collaboration.

The initiative recognises that digital transformation is not simply about adopting new systems. It also requires organisations to rethink roles, workflows and skills. The project also identified opportunities to integrate AI and automation into redesigned workflows to improve productivity.

CPG is pleased to contribute to this industry-wide effort to support workforce transformation and the transition to new ways of working as the Built Environment sector moves towards CORENET X.

During Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong’s visit to Kazakhstan last month, Ar. Nina Yang, Group Chief Development Officer at CPG Corporation and Deputy CEO of the Alatau City Authority (ACA), was part of the Kazakh delegation at a lunch hosted by Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister, Mr Kanat Bozumbayev, in Astana.

Over lunch, the two leaders exchange views on Alatau City, Kazakhstan’s 880 km² new city of accelerated development, where Singapore’s experience in urban development and governance is serving as a benchmark. As the city takes shape as a hub for investment, business, technology and innovation, it presents opportunities for deeper Singapore–Kazakhstan cooperation.

Through a Development Management Service Agreement with ACA, CPG is supporting the development of Alatau City across urban and infrastructure planning, building and construction, industrial park development and investor coordination. This integrated role brings CPG’s development advisory, planning and infrastructure capabilities to one of Kazakhstan’s most ambitious city-scale developments.

As Singapore and Kazakhstan strengthen their ties, Alatau City demonstrates how CPG’s built environment expertise can support the development of new cities and emerging economic centres beyond Singapore.
