A place for your appliances. Space to prep.

The rice cooker, air fryer and coffee machine all need a home. But when they take over the worktop, even chopping vegetables starts with moving things around.
An open appliance cabinet with pull-out shelves can help keep everything organised while leaving a clear stretch of worktop for food prep.
Plan it around the appliances you actually use: their dimensions, the shelf extension, the weight each shelf and runner can support, and the sockets and cable space.
Open shelves still need the ventilation and clearances specified by the appliance manufacturer. Check that each appliance is suitable for use in the planned position.

Love the look. Hate the cleaning?

Another shelf to dust. A gap the robot vacuum can't reach. An awkward corner behind the basin. Small design details can turn everyday cleaning into a chore.
Keep most storage behind doors, with a little space for display. Leave enough clearance for your robot vacuum. Choose a basin and countertop layout that gives you room to wipe.
You don't have to give up the look you love. We can help work through the hard-to-clean details before you renovate.
Message Homenex. Let's design a home that works for you.

Storage that works with your everyday routine

Move the bags. Reach for the hanger. Pull everything out just to find one thing.
If that sounds familiar, your storage layout may need a rethink.
Give suitcases a space you can access without shifting other things. Keep the clothes you wear most within reach, give smaller items their own compartments, and plan where the vacuum will sit and charge.
It's these practical details that make a home easier to live in.
Planning a renovation? Message Homenex. We'll help plan storage around your space and the way you use it.

Laundry day shouldn't start with rearranging the room

Move the basket. Shift the detergent. Clear a space to fold.
If that sounds like your laundry routine, it may be time to rethink the layout.
A laundry area needs more than room for a washing machine. Give the basket a spot that keeps the door clear, put everyday supplies within easy reach, and leave a worktop free for folding.
Planning a renovation? Message Homenex. We'll help design a laundry area around your space and routine.

Bathroom mould keeps coming back? Start with the moisture.

Still finding water droplets on the shower screen and a wet floor long after your shower?
Cleaning helps, but keeping surfaces dry and letting moisture escape matter too.
Start with two simple habits: squeegee away excess water after showering, and keep the room well ventilated.
If natural ventilation is limited, a window-mounted exhaust fan may help. The window, panel, power supply and installation all need to suit the space. Leave a path for replacement air, and keep the fan running for a while after showering.
Existing mould still needs cleaning, and leaks or recurring damp patches need their cause addressed. A fan is not a substitute for repairs.
Planning a bathroom renovation? DM us. We'll help you work out a ventilation plan for your space.
Design reference. Final installation depends on the window, dimensions, electrical provision and site conditions.

More power points are not always better. Placement matters.

Adding more power points does not automatically make a home more convenient. If they are planned before the furniture and appliances, they can still end up blocked or too far from where you need them.
For occasional appliance use at an island, a multi-outlet pop-up unit can keep power within reach while leaving the worktop clear when it is not needed.
A kitchen power track can add flexibility as small appliances move, but it should stay in a dry prep zone away from the sink and hob.
Charging beside the sofa and bed, plus dedicated points for the robot vacuum, stick vacuum and router, should be planned around the actual layout.
Planning a renovation? DM us your floor plan and appliance needs. We'll help map the power points around the way you use your home.

One ceiling light can leave a living room feeling flat

A bright room is not always a well-lit room.
With just one ceiling light, the centre may be bright while the sofa, dining table and walkways still feel dim or uncomfortable.
A more useful plan follows how the room is used: general light for everyday movement, task light for dining or reading, and a small amount of accent light for warmth and depth.
You do not need more fittings everywhere. You need the right light in the right places.
DM us. We'll help plan the lighting around the way you live.

Open or enclosed kitchen? Start with how you cook

An open kitchen can make a compact home feel brighter and more connected. An island also gives you a practical place to prep while staying part of the conversation.
If high-heat cooking, stir-frying or deep-frying is part of daily life, being able to close off the kitchen may matter more.
A semi-open layout or sliding glass doors can offer a useful middle ground: close the kitchen while cooking, then open it up again afterwards.
There is no single answer for every home. The right option depends on how you cook, the floor plan, wall conditions, ventilation and applicable approvals.
DM us your floor plan and tell us how you usually cook. We'll help you compare the options.

6 Smart Places for a Built-In Niche

A well-planned niche can do more than display decor. It can give everyday items a proper place, bring warmth through lighting and make built-in storage feel less heavy.
Think of a drop zone by the entrance, a display feature in the living room, a coffee station beside the dining area, or a useful recess along the hallway, bedside or study wall.
The key is to design it around a real purpose. Cabinet depth, walkway clearance, power points and wall construction all matter. Structural walls, household-shelter walls and service walls should never be altered just to create the look.
Wondering where a niche could work in your home? DM us and we'll help you plan it.
