On Saturday, 26 September 2026, the SISV Quantity Surveying Division (QSD) Council and Committee came together at Orchid Country Club for our 2026 Retreat, led by SISV QSD President, Sr Colin Kin.
The Retreat provided an important opportunity for the Council and Committee to step away from our usual business and focus on the bigger picture โ the future direction of the QS profession and SISV QSD.
A key focus was the 14 recommendations of the Quantity Surveyors Workgroup, spanning talent attraction, professional development and retention, professional standing, business sustainability, technology and AI adoption, as well as how we reposition and articulate the value of the QS profession for the future.
We also discussed QSD accounting and membership matters, QS Convention 2026, and SISV restructuring matters. More importantly, the Retreat was about turning recommendations into actions, responsibilities and tangible outcomes for our profession.
Our sincere thanks to Hon Treasurer, Sr Carol Low, and the SISV Secretariat team for their excellent arrangements and coordination in making the Retreat possible.
After a morning of thoughtful discussions, exchanges and planning, we wrapped up the Retreat in the best way possible โ with a sit-down lunch, good fellowship and plenty of laughter!
Thank you to everyone who contributed their time, ideas and energy. Together, we continue to shape a stronger, more progressive and future-ready QS profession.
