As the world of work continues to evolve, one thing becomes increasingly clear: the future belongs to organisations that can balance technological advancement with a deeply human approach to leadership.
At the SHRM Annual Conference & Expo 2026 in Orlando, IHRP was delighted to participate in the "Leadership & Global HR Perspectives" session, where IHRP CEO Aslam Sardar joined Shiv Shivakumar in a thought-provoking discussion on the forces shaping the future of leadership, talent and work. The session was expertly moderated by Achal Khanna, CEO of SHRM APAC & MENA, whose facilitation brought together diverse global perspectives and practical insights.
As AI and emerging technologies reshape workplaces, organisations will need to focus not only on improving productivity, but also on building new capabilities, redesigning jobs and enabling continuous learning. In this environment, HR's role is expanding beyond talent management to become a strategic driver of workforce transformation and organisational readiness.
The discussion also reinforced the importance of hiring for character, attitude and potential, while creating pathways for employees to develop the skills required for a rapidly changing future. Equally important is the role of leaders in fostering trust, earning respect and creating conditions where people can perform at their best.
For HR professionals and people managers, the challenge ahead is not simply to prepare organisations for the future of work, but to ensure that progress is achieved in a way that strengthens both business performance and human outcomes.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the SHRM APAC team for the invitation and for creating a platform for meaningful dialogue on the future of leadership, talent and work.
