Apparently we're heading into another hotter, drier period ☀️

Which explains why we've been hearing more and more:
"Why is my room suddenly so hot?"

One thing we've learnt from visiting homes is that two units can experience the same weather very differently.

Same Singapore. Same temperature.

Entirely different living experience.

At SOLUX, every recommendation starts with understanding the space before recommending a solution.

Singapore’s warmer afternoons are returning ☀️

West-facing homes tend to feel heat build-up strongly from late afternoon into the evening.

Managing heat through glass can significantly improve indoor comfort — while still keeping natural light and the view 👍

Rainy outside. Cooler inside. 👍

Window films aren’t just for sunny days.

A good solar film setup helps regulate heat and improve comfort throughout changing weather conditions — while still keeping your natural light and view.

Especially for west-facing Singapore homes, managing heat gain through glass makes a noticeable difference in daily comfort.

Why Your Home Feels Hot — Even When It’s Not That Sunny

Most homeowners assume heat only comes in when the sun is “strong.”

Not exactly.

In Singapore, heat builds based on sun angle + exposure timing, not just brightness.

What we consistently see during site inspections:
(Observed across multiple homes we’ve assessed recently)

☀️ Morning sun (9am – 12pm)
East-facing units heat up earlier in the day
– Rooms already warm by late morning
– Heat lingers into the afternoon

☀️ Afternoon sun (3pm – 6pm)
West-facing units take the heaviest load
– Peak heat hits later in the day
– Evenings feel warm despite sunset

This is why some homes feel:
– fine at certain hours
– but uncomfortable at others

Even with curtains or blinds, the heat has already entered through the glass.

Common patterns:
• Large window panels = more heat transfer
• Good views = higher exposure
• Glass-heavy layouts = stronger heat build-up

What actually works:

A properly selected solar film can:
• Reduce heat entering through glass
• Cut glare without darkening your home
• Maintain natural brightness and your view
(No blackout, no heavy tint required.)

Every home is different — orientation, layout, and usage all matter.

We assess based on your actual windows, not guesswork.

If your home heats up at specific times of the day,
there’s usually a reason.

Site inspection completed — Balestier

West-facing stack with strong afternoon heat load.

The unit experiences significant heat gain through the main window panels, especially during peak sun hours.

Notably, the renovation includes a wall extension around the balcony area — no issue for film application. We’ll work cleanly within the existing structure.

Recommended our solar film solution to:
• reduce heat significantly
• maintain natural brightness
• improve overall indoor comfort

Solution calibrated based on sun exposure and panel layout.

Installation proceeding.

Each space requires a slightly different approach — orientation, structure and usage all matter.
