You wipe the kitchen counter clean before bed, only to find the ants back by breakfast. Cleaning removes the visible trail, but it may not address where they are entering or what keeps attracting them.

Before wiping the trail away, observe where the ants first appear and which direction they are travelling. Check whether they are moving towards food, water or a small opening around the cabinetry.

The trail may lead towards an entry point that would otherwise be easy to miss.

The mattress is usually the first place people check when they suspect bed bugs. However, nearby furniture can provide other hiding places that are easily overlooked.

Bed bugs may hide in the joints of a bed frame, behind a headboard or inside the seams of an upholstered chair. Sofas and rarely disturbed corners may also provide places for them to remain hidden.

Small reddish stains, unexplained bites or a musty smell may be warning signs, although they can also have other causes.

A proper inspection should cover the surrounding furniture and room, not only the mattress. 🔍
