New strategy regarding setups. Always lock the strings underneath themselves, turn the overhang down. This Telecaster hadn't been used in a while. No wonder! It was kind of dirty, not maintained for a while. No rule in that!

However I favour taking care of these little follies!

As you can see there were a couple of issues that needed looking over and I guess that is why it landed on my bench. Or perhaps. If in question. Ask me.

This little guy won't let you down.

Especially plugged in - it sounds exceptionally good!

Besides the smaller body and it's flat design, it lends itself to adding a lap steel into the picture.

Definitely will have a couple of benefits into it's design.

The onboard electronics is not making this little guy into an arena rocker, but the onboard pickup might do the trick?

It sounds amazingly great through an amp.

I've must have made +500 nuts and bridge saddles by now. Remember when I made my first. Bought a substantial bone from a buthcher and boiled it in a casorol in the apartment where I lived at Kungsholmen.

Those were the days. Not only to the casorol, but also to the bone.

I still enjoy making nuts and bridge saddles from natural bone. I know you can buy them sort of semi complete from different sources over the internet. Yes of course they will be machined and probably CNC:d down to their last perimeter. Nothing wrong in that, but my customer asked me if he would be able to differ his new Bone nut from a plastic.

So from this perspective, what would make it more natural than choosing a raw Bone nut material?

Changing the frets on a Maton 225.

It's been about 20 years ago since I made my practical training with the Maton company. I was lucky to get through the switchboard at the time. However I reached out to them on pure chance, but I had a backup plan - to visit several guitar builders across Australia! However once arriving - nos problemos!

How do you like your coffe, mate?!

Ever since I have been a devoted Aussie fan!

Going over is one of the things I'd never want to see undone. If you have the chance - go!

First time I laid my eyes upon a Maton guitar, was when I visited an Internet café (do you remember those?!). It's owner had a Maton guitar resting in a corner. He let me strum a couple of chords and I instantly knew where I would like to apply for my practical training.

Once omitted, I spent 6 weeks there. They were very friendly and I don't think I will ever have a similar experience when it comes to building guitars! 50 people (at the time) working and everyone committed to the bone!

And that is just what it takes to have the job done!

Committed to the bone.

My customer dropped off his Maton yesterday, and if I hadn't completed my practical training with Maton - who knows when I would have been able to deliver his guitar back?

As things turned out - it was today.
