Did you know that checking internal clearance on non-friction (rolling-element) bearings is one of the most critical steps to prevent premature equipment failure? If the clearance is too tight, you risk overheating and seizure. If it’s too loose, you’ll deal with excessive vibration and rapid wear.

🔧 1. Feeler Gauge Method – The go-to field check for medium to large spherical or cylindrical roller bearings. We carefully slide the gauge between the unloaded top rollers and the outer ring to verify uniformity across rows.

📊 2. Dial Indicator Method – Ideal for fully assembled machinery. By mounting a rigid dial indicator against the shaft, we can manually apply force to read the exact radial or axial play.

✋ 3. Bench Check / Manual Feel – Perfect for smaller ball bearings where the clearance is microscopic. A quick, trained hand check ensures the inner ring moves smoothly with zero heavy rocking.

We also look closely at standardized clearance codes (from tight C2 tolerances up to high-heat C4/C5 classes) to match the exact environment your equipment operates in.
