During the last years, in all countries, the urban transportation raised specific problems and caused important political, social and environmental harms: pollution, noise, stress. That is why the research and technological development activities are encouraged to provide clean and efficient transport, especially in the European countries, USA and Japan. The laws regarding the environmental protec
tion aim at limiting the greenhouse effect and Romania-in order to integrate in the EU-must and wishes to follow the same direction. That is why, in the last twenty years, the electric vehicle has been re-discovered. Electric vehicles, which are mostly known for being clean and silent, were expected to answer to the growing demand for clean and efficient transport. Unfortunetaly, although the advantages and benefits offered for the environment protection are major, the electric vehicles have not yet succeeded in penetrating the car market and convincing the prospective users. The targets of this association are:
•to help the sustainable development of transportation by promoting the research, design, manufacturing, import and exploitation of the non-conventional environmental-friendly vehicles (with accent on the electric vehicle - EV) and of their parts and sub-systems, infrastructure and specific energy sources.
•to stimulate the scientific research activity in this area
•to develop projects as part of the national and European research programs
•to contribute to the national technical educational system
•to educate and inform the public, especially the young people, on the importance of the sustainable development of the human society and environment preservation.
•to promote the use of the non-polluting technologies in Romania, in order to ensure progress in harmony with the nature
•to help elaborate a national set of laws, in concordance with the EU legislation, in the field of the environmental friendly transportation
•to initiate actions in order to encourage the use of electric vehicles, by tax policy and governmental subsidies for buying this kind of vehicles
•to initiate and support actions to develop the specific urban infrastructure for electric vehicles
•to represent and promote the interest of its members in Romania and abroad
