The studio is led by Esenghiul Abdul and Christian Beros, directing Architecture and Urban Design projects, and Cristiano Del Toro who is responsible for the Landscape Design Interventions and Landscape Ecology Strategies. We combine our professional and academic experience in the fields of Spatial Analysis, Space Syntax methodologies, and Landscape Ecology as a way to understand the relationships
between the built environment and the social interactions that take place in it. Through research and consultancy projects developed at The Bartlett and Space Syntax Ltd, we have had the chance to work in a wide range of scales and scenarios giving consultancy to architects, urban designers, developers, local municipalities and countries governments. This experience has helped us in building a solid knowledge of:
how to interact with different actors and stakeholders when dealing with large scale interventions,
how to explain the importance of good design in the performance of urban and building projects,
and how to keep a coherent line of design from vision and conceptual design to detailing and execution. To apply our experience in design works, we have developed our Landscape Architecture strategies which combine the understanding of social-spatial relations, with the needs for more resilient environments. We design spaces and strategies that are efficient in terms of energy and economics, respectful of society as well as of natural and cultural landscapes, and spaces that can empower people, communities and organisations in making better places to live, work, shop, and enjoy leisure activities. We understand Architecture as the result of a process in which multiple variables are taken in consideration, from the morphological relation of the site with its local and global environment, towards the definition of functions and strategies which encompass the client desires as well as the economics behind the projects. Form itself is then defined as a product of a complex scenario in which an ecological view of the project is a common variable that guides our process.
