Meet our Design Principal, Vladimir Arsene—Founder of Westfourth Architecture and an internationally recognized architect with a distinguished career built across Romania and the United States. As a member of The American Institute of Architects (AIA) in the United States since 1993, a founding member of the Romanian Architects’ Union (UAR), and a member of the Order of Architects of Romania (OAR), he has played an important role in shaping the architectural landscape of Bucharest. He is also the first architect to receive the Romanian Academy Prize, a recognition of the exceptional value of his work.
Alongside his architectural practice, he dedicated 10 years to teaching in the United States and also serves as a professor at UAUIM in Romania, where he helps shape and inspire future generations of architects.

Founded in New York in 1991 by Vladimir Arsene, AIA, OAR, Westfourth Architecture has grown steadily for 35 years. The firm’s early success began with an international design award for its first built project, a bank headquarters, and has continued through the design of more than fifty buildings, primarily in Romania, as well as in Latvia and the United States.
Westfourth’s portfolio spans a wide range of scales and programs, from embassy buildings for Canada and the State of Kuwait to medium and high-rise office and residential projects. Its commitment to design excellence has been recognized through numerous awards and professional publications, while the firm continues to support corporate and institutional clients in meeting their goals and addressing the demands of contemporary architecture.
