Roof progress on the tiny house ruin renovation 🔨
Slowly bringing this old shell back to life — one beam, board and bucket of sweat at a time. Amazing work from the builders getting the roof structure on.

Another day, another roof
Local project here in central Portugal — turning a little ruin into a family home.
Building a safe, strong roof, lots of sanding going on.
Bit of help from the neighbours (and their tractors 🚜) — they’re great.

Water system going in, septic tank installed, electrics chased into the walls, and foundations starting to take shape outside.
Drainage is key here — because it might not rain often, but when it does… it really does
Big effort from the whole team, working hard and making solid progress every day

Turning a ruin into a safe home
Before any finishes go in, the team are installing a radon gas protection system. Radon is a natural gas that can come up through the ground and build up inside buildings if it’s not properly sealed.

This protective layer helps block it from entering the home, making the space safer and healthier long-term.
Once that’s down, the new flooring system goes on top

(…and of course, it got a cat inspection 🐾😂)
