Monday morning and the full team are out in force across two ongoing projects! 💪

At our first job, preparations continue with thorough jet washing ahead of a complete exterior repaint.

At the second, Steve is repairing and re-rendering an external wall, ready for painting as we push to bring the project to completion by the end of the week.

🏡 New exterior painting project started this week!

The first stage is all about proper preparation. We began by thoroughly jet-washing the property to remove loose and flaking paint, dirt and unstable material. As the photos show, a considerable amount of the old coating had lost its bond with the walls.

The next step is an acid wash, which helps remove stubborn surface contamination, mineral deposits and residue, leaving the walls clean and ready for treatment.

Once fully dry, we’ll use the complete BARBOT system to repair cracks and damaged render, stabilise and prime the surfaces, then apply the exterior paint for a strong, even and longer-lasting finish.

Good exterior painting isn’t simply about adding a fresh coat of paint. The preparation underneath is what makes the real difference.

🏡 Another Algarve home given a fresh new look!

A full exterior painting project completed by Nichols Painting & Renovations, bringing this beautiful villa back to life and giving it a clean, fresh finish ready for the Algarve sunshine. ☀️

It’s especially lovely returning to this property as last year we also completed the patio works, so we’ve now had the pleasure of transforming both the exterior of the villa and its outdoor areas.

There’s nothing better than seeing everything come together. Another job we’re really proud of. ❤️

🇵🇹 Traditional Portuguese Tiles – A Specialist Skill

These beautiful handmade terracotta tiles are full of character, but laying them correctly takes real skill.

Because they’re handmade, every tile varies slightly in size, thickness, shape and colour. There are no perfectly uniform edges, so each tile has to be individually positioned and adjusted to keep the overall floor straight, balanced and level.

It takes patience, experience and a very good eye to make something naturally irregular look beautifully right. 👌

We love the finished result and the authentic Portuguese character it brings to this kitchen. 🤎

What a transformation 🙌

This was a full internal repair and redecoration project after this beautiful home was devastated by the severe storms Portugal experienced at the beginning of the year. From top to bottom, the property suffered major water damage to walls, ceilings and contents throughout the house.

After working closely on behalf of our clients with the insurance company and loss adjuster, our team stepped in to manage the entire project from start to finish while the homeowners were away.

The works included:
✔ Full deep clean of the property and contents
✔ Repairing damaged walls and ceilings throughout
✔ Two coats of primer applied
✔ Three coats of topcoat with anti-fungal protection added
✔ Cleaning all bedding, linen and household items
✔ Final builders clean to remove dust and any paint splashes before handover

Today we returned for the final clean, ready for Andy and Alison arriving back in Portugal this evening ❤️

After the awful disaster they faced earlier this year, we truly hope they enjoy a well-deserved relaxing weekend in their freshly restored, clean and beautifully redecorated home.

A huge thank you to Andy and Alison for trusting us and the team to manage this project on your behalf while you were away.

Another happy customer and another property brought back to life 💪🏽🏠✨
