Those before the ceremony moments are very emotional, a veil that needs to be put on, a dress that needs a rearrangement, the bouquets that get delivered, the flower kids that get in place, the father that watches the bride, the anticipation on the moment.

As a photographer, I value these moments and look out for them in the best way possible. They can be messy, not clean enough, but the emotion is there and that above all is what makes them absolutely unique.

This is by far the place where i have photographed the most weddings and family baptisms.

It never seizes to amaze me every time. There is a special light, hard to work with but truly magical when well captured.

it is small but very spacious for photographers to work, like a hidden corredor that connects the sides of the alter, perfect to walk around without disturbing.

I have been lucky to have returned there yesterday and soon some pictures will emerge. Again, nothing quite before and still the sabe beauty of Igreja da Memória.

Mother, that moment in life where we embrace huge changes, both physically and emotionally never gaining our self but transforming into another person. One capable of enduring the hardest of days but still keep striving, one with endless love to give and share, one that is more than one.

As a wedding photographer my work is not limited to weddings. Couples often request pre wedding photoshoots, engagement photos, proposals, honeymoon, vows renewals, family photos, pets photos, and any occasion is a nice occasion to have your portraits done by a professional.

What to expect from me as a wedding photographer?

If you are on the way to scout for a wedding photographer and you came across this account, let me say up front you are on the right track.

I am a photographer and wedding come in to my agenda every year, so for the past almost ten years I have been working solo and also with other wedding photographers, exclusively in portugal.

So the first thing to expect from me is experience. I consider experience a build up of a number of factors:

1. time, of course though time we learn a lot, we mature and we gather experiences of gains and losses, we learn how to be better everyday and how to overcome any side turn
2. diversity, no two weddings are the same, even if at the same venue with the same venders, uniqueness is a factor common to all weddings.
3. contacts, through the years we are wise gatherings of excellent vendors, and we can for sure guide and advice you on some, making the best match possible towards what you are looking for.

But experience is not only this, it's anticipation towards plan b or c or d, throughout the day, is being a listener and observer and knowing how to navigate through the day. Is about being flexible and communicating right.

This wedding at Herdade da Maxuqueira was one of my first ones I took as a solo photographer. I see the pictures now from a distance and I still see in it the work I am doing today, with minor twicks from EXPERIENCE.

The best way to know if your wedding photographer is experienced is to ask them. Don't be afraid to make questions. Experience is not only time but diversity and broadness of events.
