Most 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗱𝗼𝘄 𝗚𝗮𝗽 problems are created before installation starts.

Before ordering or fitting the profile, check:

𝟭. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗲𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝘅𝗲𝗱
The profile must match the planned ceiling geometry and installation sequence.

𝟮. 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗱
Check board thickness, number of layers and the complete wall or ceiling build-up.

𝟯. 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱
Confirm joints, end points, level changes and transitions to other profiles.

𝟰. 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗱𝗼𝘄 𝗚𝗮𝗽 𝘄𝗶𝗱𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱
Make sure the width suits the room scale, ceiling height and intended visual effect.

𝟱. 𝗟𝗘𝗗 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱
Check LED-strip width, diffuser, cable route, driver location and maintenance access.

𝟲. 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱
Raw aluminium, black, white, RAL or anodised - the decision should be made before ordering.

𝟳. 𝗦𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱
Check uneven walls, long runs, curves and intersections before installation begins.

A clean 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗱𝗼𝘄 𝗚𝗮𝗽 detail is not created by the profile alone. It depends on proper coordination between the architect, project manager and installer.

𝗥𝗔𝗟 𝗼𝗿 𝗡𝗖𝗦? 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹.

RAL and NCS are color-reference systems, but they are commonly used with different finishing technologies.

Aluminum Shadow Gap profiles are normally powder-coated.
For this reason, 𝗥𝗔𝗟 is usually the most practical option: powder-coating suppliers offer standard RAL colors in matt, satin, gloss and textured finishes. This provides good durability, repeatability and predictable production costs.

An 𝗡𝗖𝗦 color may also be matched in powder coating, but it is often treated as a custom order and may require additional samples, minimum quantities and a longer lead time.

MDF moldings are normally finished with wet paint or lacquer.
NCS is often preferred because it makes it easier to coordinate the molding with painted walls, doors and other interior elements.

MDF can also be painted in a RAL color.
However, conventional high-temperature powder coating is designed primarily for metal and is not the standard finishing method for MDF.

𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿:
the same color code may look different on aluminum and MDF.
Gloss, surface texture, coating type and lighting all influence the final perception.

Never approve an important color only from a display. Use a physical color fan and request samples on the actual materials.

A matching code is a starting point - not a guarantee of a perfect visual match.

Shadow Gap profiles, aluminium skirting boards, concealed plinth systems and flush skirting can all be integrated into interiors with curved walls.

Depending on the design, we prepare project-specific aluminium elements and use custom details for complex junctions and transitions.

Continuous architectural lines
Easier and more predictable installation

The interior should not be simplified because of standard profile limitations.

𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀: 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝘃𝘀 𝗗𝗼𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝘄, 𝗰𝗲𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴

In contemporary interiors, curtains are considered to be a part of the architecture. A recessed curtain track hides the rail and fixing elements, allowing the fabric to appear as if it descends directly from the ceiling.

The final effect depends on three key decisions:
• ceiling system
• number of curtain layers
• correct position of the track

𝗙𝟮.𝗖𝗥𝟱𝟭𝟰 is a compact single-row solution for one sheer, decorative or blackout curtain.
It is well suited to apartments, offices, hotel rooms and narrow ceiling zones where visual simplicity is the priority.

𝗙𝟮.𝗖𝗥𝟭𝟭𝟵𝟬 accommodates two independent rows, typically combining a sheer curtain with a blackout or decorative curtain.
It is particularly suitable for bedrooms, hospitality interiors and premium residential projects requiring flexible daylight and privacy control.

Both aluminum systems are designed for concealed installation in plasterboard and stretch ceilings.

𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗰𝗲𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴
The profile can be integrated into the suspended ceiling structure and coordinated with recesses, indirect lighting and changes in ceiling level.

𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗰𝗲𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴
With a stretch ceiling, the profile and supporting structure must be installed and levelled before the membrane is tensioned.

There is no universal distance between the track and the wall or window. The position should be calculated from the element projecting furthest into the room, such as a window handle, sill, radiator, ventilation grille or deep reveal. Fabric fullness, curtain heading, stack-back and the space required for a second layer must also be considered.

The curtain detail should be coordinated early with:
shadow gaps
indirect lighting
ceiling transitions
suspended ceiling height
ventilation slots and HVAC
window and radiator clearances

One clear alignment between the curtain recess, lighting and ceiling layout creates a calmer architectural result and helps avoid costly changes on site.
