Kris Mliczek - Unwritten Myths

He wasn’t placed in this landscape. He grew out of it.
A figure, a structure, perhaps a ruler — formed from the same organic matter that spreads across the wasteland.
I called it The King.
Does this world belong to him, or is he only another part of it?

I don’t paint monsters.

I paint the moment when something familiar becomes impossible to name.
The Rider began with an idea, but changed while I was painting it — as most of my works do. The original path disappeared, and another one slowly emerged.

I don’t want to decide what this scene means. I would rather leave enough space for your own story to begin.
