A damaged bearing... a complete screw compressor overhaul.
Today's project involved a Carrier 30HXC screw chiller compressor with severe bearing damage.
To restore long-term reliability, we replaced the bearings and screw block after completely dismantling the compressor.
Before opening the compressor, the entire refrigerant charge was safely pump-downed into the system, ensuring zero refrigerant was released into the atmosphere.
After reassembly, we performed a deep vacuum, leak testing, and commissioning.
The result? Smooth startup, stable operation, and a chiller back to reliable performance.
