MIA Group of Companies is proud to announce a historic milestone for Pakistan's air conditioning industry. ๐ต๐ฐ
On 11 August 2026, at Daikin Re Connect, we officially unveiled that Pakistan has become the first country in the world where a distributor locally assembles Daikin residential air conditioners on a CKD (Completely Knocked Down) basis.
This is a first. Not just for Pakistan, but globally.
The day began at the MIA factory with the inauguration of our assembly facility, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and a live walkthrough of the production line, where the first Daikin residential units were assembled on Pakistani soil.
The evening continued at Shadman Hall, Serena Hotel, Islamabad, where we welcomed our nationwide dealer network, business partners, and industry leaders for the official announcement and gala dinner.
We were honoured to have senior leadership from Daikin Malaysia join us for this occasion, a testament to the trust and confidence Daikin places in MIA and in Pakistan's capabilities.
The event was graced by our Chief Guest, Mr. Yousaf Hassan, President of the Pakistan HVACR Society of Pakistan. Our Guests of Honour included H.E. Ambassador Dato' Mohammad Azhar Mazlan, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan, and Mr. Ishii Yuki, Economic Counsellor, Embassy of Japan in Pakistan. Their presence underscored the significance of this milestone for Pakistan's growing industrial partnerships with Malaysia and Japan.
This achievement reflects a relationship built over years of consistent performance, market leadership, and a shared commitment to quality. Daikin is the world's leading air conditioning company, and the decision to entrust this responsibility to MIA is a recognition of Pakistan's capability to operate at global standards.
For our customers, local assembly brings Daikin's world-class technology closer than ever, with improved product availability, stronger after-sales support, and greater value, all while maintaining the same global quality standards that define the Daikin name.
"To be the first distributor in the world trusted by Daikin to assemble their residential air conditioners is an honour, and a responsibility we carry with pride." Muhammad Ashraf Arrain, Chairman, MIA Group of Companies.
From global expertise to local assembly, Daikin and MIA are writing a new chapter for Pakistan's air conditioning industry. We thank our partners, our dealers, and every member of the MIA family who made this possible.
This is a proud moment for Pakistan. And it is only the beginning.
