Property Dealer, Broker and Professional Real Estate Consultant — What’s the Real Difference?
In real estate, these three terms are often treated as the same. But there can be a significant difference in their role, responsibility and approach.
A Property Dealer generally focuses on facilitating property buying and selling.
A Broker primarily connects the Buyer and Seller and facilitates the transaction.
A Professional Real Estate Consultant, however, should go beyond simply closing a deal.
The consultant’s role is to help the client make an informed decision by considering:
• Client’s Best Interest
• Due Diligence
• Market Analysis
• Risk Management
• Investment Objectives
• Long-Term Potential
• Exit Strategy
• Informed Decision-Making
Because a good property deal is not necessarily a good investment.
Professional real estate consulting is about understanding the opportunity, identifying the risks and helping the client make a better decision.
The real value of a consultant should not simply be measured by the commission earned, but by the quality of the decision they help the client make.
What do you think is the biggest difference between a Property Dealer, Broker and Professional Real Estate Consultant?
