A little light against the night,
A borrowed glow to make things right.
Through pages turned and dreams held tight,
A humble flame made futures bright.

He bears the weight of greed's demands,
While selfish hearts have clean their hands.
He saves a world that feeds its vice,
Then pays for sins he did not price.

Their lavish lives, the people's cost,
A throne of wealth on trust long lost.

A portrait stares, the monkey sways,
Caught in the fog of uncertain days.
Fed with promises, left with a bruise,
How long must he be confused and used?
