(1/3) With the arrival of the American army in 1903 came the influx and settlement of military personnel in Pampanga. Established as Fort Stotsenburg, residential homes known as “Barn Houses” became common along the streets of the community. Despite suburban influences from the US, these houses utilized tropical interventions carried over from local practices.
Since the departure of the American Military in 1991, new infrastructure has attracted a population into the area. Filinvest’s new Mimosa Events Center in Clark caters to the growing local and international community. Expanding upon the cultural influences from the west, the events space echoes Midcentury sensibilities that were once common postwar suburbia
