Commitment to Continuous Professional Development
"Anyone who stops learning is old—whether at twenty or at eighty. Anyone who keeps learning not only remains young but becomes constantly more valuable, regardless of physical capacity."
— Henry Ford
The firm recognizes that continuous professional development is fundamental to delivering quality architectural services. In keeping with this commitment, Ar. Eric L. Demingoy, Principal Architect, participated in the five-day Seminar-Workshop on Hospital Planning and Design, held in Manila from June 22 to June 26, 2026, covering Level 1 and Level 2 Hospitals, with an introduction to Level 3 Hospital Planning.
The program represents an important milestone in the firm's continuing effort to broaden its professional capabilities and develop expertise in the increasingly specialized field of healthcare architecture.
Hospital planning and design require a level of knowledge and technical understanding beyond conventional architectural practice. Successful healthcare facilities demand careful consideration of healthcare operations, patient and staff circulation, functional relationships, safety and infection-control requirements, applicable codes and standards, departmental planning, and the integration of complex building systems.
Through the seminar, Ar. Eric L. Demingoy gained further exposure to these critical aspects through technical lectures, professional discussions, case-based learning, and an intensive group planning workshop, culminating in project presentations. The program provided valuable insights into the planning requirements of various hospital departments, as well as the distinctions, standards, and functional requirements associated with different hospital levels.
The firm extends its appreciation to the seminar's distinguished mentors and architect-lecturers, particularly Ar. Ma. Rebecca M. Penafiel, a respected authority in Hospital Planning, whose extensive professional experience and technical knowledge contributed significantly to the learning experience.
The program also reinforced the importance of collaborative design, interdisciplinary thinking, and knowledge-sharing among professionals. The interaction between experienced practitioners and younger architects provided a valuable exchange of ideas and perspectives, further demonstrating the importance of lifelong learning in the architectural profession.
For the firm, the participation of Ar. Eric L. Demingoy in this specialized program strengthens its professional capacity to undertake future healthcare, institutional, and related architectural projects with greater technical awareness, planning competence, and sensitivity to the needs of patients, healthcare professionals, and the communities they serve.
This continuing investment in professional education reflects the firm's commitment to innovation, competence, integrity, and excellence. By continuously expanding its knowledge and professional capabilities, the firm seeks to provide architectural solutions that are not only functional and technically sound, but also humane, compassionate, sustainable, and responsive to the needs of the community.
The firm believes that professional development is not merely an investment in knowledge, but an investment in its ability to serve clients and communities more effectively. Every opportunity to learn, improve, and expand professional expertise contributes to the firm's continuing pursuit of excellence in architecture and its commitment to using the profession as a means of meaningful service to society.
To God be all the glory.
