🎌🍜🍡 A throwback to one of my interior design projects located in Malingap Street, Diliman, Quezon City wayback 2023. 🍱🍙⛩️

What I love about renovation projects is that they challenge you to design within real-world constraints.

This Japanese restaurant renovation wasn't about replacing everything, it was about reimagining the space. For this Japanese restaurant project, I was tasked with creating a Japanese-inspired atmosphere while incorporating selected existing elements that the client wished to retain.

By carefully integrating the client's requested retained elements into a new Japanese-inspired concept, the design achieved a balance between functionality, character, and timeless simplicity.

The result is a space that respects what was there while giving it a fresh identity.

Congratulations! BIBO SEA! 👏👏👏

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced on 26 June 2026 that Saint Louis University (SLU), through its School of Engineering and Architecture, earned the 10th spot among Top Performing Schools, with a passing percentage of 90.91%, in the June 2026 Licensure Examination for Architects (LEA), with 50 or more examinees and with at least 80% passing percentage.

Additionally, SLU graduate, Hans Icasiano Gaviola, who recorded a rating of 87.70%, placed tenth among top-performing examinees.

The PRC also announced that 2,799 out of 3,290 examinees (85.07%) successfully passed the LEA, which took place this June 2026 at testing centers across various locations, including NCR, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, Zamboanga, and Puerto Princesa, Palawan.

Congratulations, SLU School of Engineering and Architecture, for this incredible feat!

Dapat talaga pag-isipan na natin na umiwas sa sobrang bigat na building materials. Kasi kapag pumasok na ang force of nature—lalo na yung malalakas na lindol—grabe ang impact sa structure. Kung masyadong mabigat ang materials, mas mataas ang chance na bibigay talaga.

Pero syempre, mas maganda kung marinig din natin ang insights ng ating mga engineer friends. Ano sa tingin niyo, mga tropa nating civil at structural engineers? It’s time for a healthy discussion about the importance of choosing the right material and framing system lalo sa atin na talagang prone sa earthquake.
