There is a major safety concern in this picture: the baseplate is resting directly on the rebar. Because of this, proper concrete cover cannot be achieved, and the required non-shrink grout is missing. Don't be deceived by how a structure looks—apparent strength can hide critical safety issues.

Pouring Now... Slab On Grade (SOG)

What you don't see beneath a concrete slab is often more important than what you see on the surface.

Every layer—from proper compaction and reinforcements to moisture protection and expansion joint fillers— they all play a vital role in the SOG long-term performance.

Once the concrete is poured, these hidden components cannot be inspected or corrected without significant cost and disruption.

Doing it right may require more time, labor, and materials today, but it helps prevent expensive repairs tomorrow.

Quality is built before the concrete is poured.
