Yesterday, Signal Station OPC had the privilege of attending Zoholics Philippines at the Marriott Hotel Grand Ballroom, and what an incredible experience it was!
The event brought together industry leaders, innovators, and business professionals to explore the latest trends in digital transformation, business solutions, and customer engagement. We were inspired by the insightful sessions, meaningful conversations, and opportunities to connect with like-minded organizations committed to driving business excellence.

🇵🇭 Resilience Beyond the Shoreline: Tamparan-Dungon Extension, Pangyan, Sarangani

Some disasters leave visible damage. Others permanently transform communities and livelihoods.

In **Tamparan-Dungon Extension, Barangay Pangyan, Sarangani Province**, the effects of the **7.5 magnitude earthquake** dramatically reshaped the coastline through significant **coastal uplift**. Areas once covered by seawater are now exposed land, leaving fishing boats stranded far from the shoreline and creating new challenges for local fishing communities that depend on the sea for their livelihood.

As part of the **Mutual Aid Disaster Relief Search and Rescue (MADR-SAR) Team**, we traveled from **Manila to Davao City**, then proceeded by land to **General Santos City**, coordinating closely with the Provincial Government, Incident Command System, and various Response Clusters before deploying to affected communities, including the remote coastal areas of Pangyan.

Serving as **Team Medic and Safety Officer**, I had the privilege of meeting families, fisherfolk, and children whose lives have been deeply affected by this disaster. Yet despite the challenges they face, their resilience, optimism, and community spirit remain stronger than ever.

The images from our visit tell a powerful story:

📍 Fishing communities adapting to a dramatically altered environment.
📍 Children and families finding strength through unity and hope.
📍 Responders, volunteers, and community members working together toward recovery and rebuilding.

This mission reinforced an important lesson: disaster response is not only about delivering assistance—it is about standing alongside communities, listening to their needs, and helping restore hope.
