TOYOTA HILUX aircon not cold?

Symptoms: No cooling

The lack of precious cold air could be caused by:
A Freon leak caused by a failed o-ring, seal, hose or component
A clogged expansion tube or refrigerant charging hose
Failed compressor or compressor clutch
Failed blower motor or blower motor resistor
Damaged or failed condenser or evaporator
Vacuum leaks
Failed switch, fuse, relay, control module, blend door or solenoid

Diagnosis: Evaporator leak.

Leaks can be devastating. When an A/C system develops a leak, you have what’s called an “open system.” If you or your technician discovers the leak early, your repair will be less expensive. Unfortunately, if a leak has been affecting your cold air for a while, moisture will most likely have entered your A/C system and may have damaged other vital parts.

Solution: General aircon cleaning with leak detection. Replace Evaporator, expansion valve, Drier and o-rings. Flushed AC system. Top up compressor oil. Recharged freon on this ‘17 Toyota Hilux.

7 Signs and Symptoms of a Bad AC Fan Motor

1. AC Fan Doesn’t Start
Even though you have the AC turned on, the fan does not start.
2. AC Fan Doesn’t Stop
Your fan keeps going even after you shut the AC off.
3. Slow Rotating Blades
The blades rotate very slowly when the fan turns on.
4. Outside Fan Blades Are Still
If your AC is on, you will hear the compressor and should see the fan blades turning. If the AC is on and the blades are not moving, there is definitely an issue.
5. Rattling, Humming, and Buzzing Noises
If you hear a rattling noise coming from your condenser unit when the fan turns on, your AC fan motor is likely acting up. A loud AC fan motor that is humming or buzzing can indicate malfunctioning motor blades.

What causes AC compressor clutch failure?
All electro-magnetic clutches operate on the same principle of using an electrical current passing through a coil of wire to create a magnetic field capable of creating an action. These are some of the reasons why an ac compressor clutch may get damaged:
* A/C compressor over cycling.
* Excessive high compressor temperature due to air conditioning system contamination.
* Cooling system underperformance affecting a/c operation.
* Drive belt slipping on a/c compressor pulley creating excessive high heat load.
* Slipping clutch pressure plate due to out of specs compressor clutch gap.
* Shorts to power or ground on the ac compressor clutch coil circuit.
* A/C compressor clutch relay inoperative or shorted.

Solution: Pulldown compressor to replace brand new magnetic clutch assembly. Recharged freon on this ‘16 Toyota Wigo.
