Sometimes, the loudest cry for help is the one you never hear — because it's silent, or because they're too afraid to say it out loud.

Recent incidents of violence involving students remind us that protecting young lives 𝙜𝙤𝙚𝙨 𝙗𝙚𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝙥𝙝𝙮𝙨𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙨𝙖𝙛𝙚𝙩𝙮. Some struggles remain unseen, especially when children are afraid, unsure, or unable to put their feelings into words.

This is where 𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙨, 𝙎𝙖𝙛𝙚 𝙎𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙨 begins, creating spaces where every child can speak up, be taken seriously, and get the support they need. 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒

This 𝗦𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵🎗️, let's remember: sometimes all it takes is one real conversation to change the course of a life. Listen without judgment. Notice the signs. Connect young people with trusted adults and the right care.

September 21 is the 𝓘𝓷𝓽𝓮𝓻𝓷𝓪𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷𝓪𝓵 𝓓𝓪𝔂 𝓸𝓯 𝓟𝓮𝓪𝓬𝓮, a reminder that peace is more than the absence of conflict. It means creating communities where people feel heard, respected, protected, and valued.🌍

Every child deserves to grow in an environment built on 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲, 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁, 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. Peace begins when children have 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 to express themselves, share their feelings, and know that their voices matter. 🧸

Sa paggunita natin sa Pambansang Araw ng mga Bayani, ating alalahanin at parangalan ang mga bayaning nag-alay ng kanilang tapang, prinsipyo, at serbisyo para sa bayan. 🇵🇭

Ngunit ang kanilang laban ay hindi nagtatapos sa nakaraan. Ang kanilang mga aral ay patuloy nating isinasabuhay sa bawat paninindigan, pagkilos, at pagtulong sa kapwa.

Bilang kabataan, nasa atin ang responsibilidad na gamitin ang ating boses para sa tama at ipaglaban ang mga bagay na mahalaga. ✊🏻

Sapagkat ang tunay na paggalang sa ating mga bayani ay hindi lamang pag-alala sa kanilang mga ginawa, kundi ang pagpapatuloy ng kanilang paninindigan.

Sa bawat boses. Sa bawat pagkilos. Sa bawat paninindigan.

JOINT STATEMENT OF THE PLM STUDENT COUNCILS AND ORGANIZATIONS ON THE INVITATION OF PRESIDENT FERDINAND “BONGBONG” MARCOS JR. AS THE 58TH COMMENCEMENT SPEAKER AND THE CONFERRAL OF AN HONORARY DOCTORATE DEGREE UPON HIM

Graduation is a significant milestone in the journey of every Iskolar ng Bayan. It is a recognition of years of sacrifice, perseverance, learning, and collective struggle within the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila. It honors not only the graduates, but also the families, communities, and individuals who stood with them throughout their journey.

It is a celebration that rightfully belongs to the graduates and to everyone who helped them reach this moment.

As Haribons, we are guided by the ideals of Kaunlaran, Kadakilaan, at Karunungan. These are not merely words attached to the name of our institution. They embody the kind of citizens, scholars, and leaders that PLM seeks to mold—individuals who pursue meaningful progress, uphold integrity and dignity, and possess the courage to think critically and stand for what is right.

It is precisely because graduation is such a defining milestone that the choice of a commencement speaker matters.

While we respect President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. as the Chief Executive of the Republic of the Philippines and as our invited guest, respect for his office does not oblige us to regard him as a representation of the collective values and aspirations of every Haribon.

Every new infrastructure directly impacts where kids play, learn, and grow. Expanding the access to AI without proper safeguards not only invades their safe spaces, but also risks widening the digital divide while exposing children to serious privacy and safety concerns.
