An on-site assessment was conducted following a sudden power interruption.
Findings show that the service entrance conductor was undersized compared to the actual electrical load demand. Continuous upgrading and addition of electrical loads caused excessive heating, which led to the sudden burning of the conductor.
The aging condition of the existing conductor, including visible deterioration and corrosion, further contributed to its failure.
✅ Recommended Corrective Actions:
• Upgrade of Service Entrance Conductors properly sized based on actual load demand and future load allowance
• Proper coordination of the Service Entrance Conductors with the existing Main Circuit Breaker to ensure adequate protection, correct ampacity matching, and prevention of overheating or nuisance tripping
• Installation of a new set of Manual Transfer Switch (MTS) for improved system reliability and safe power transfer operations.
