𝗔 𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘄 𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲.

For Balai Ani, the process began by understanding what the site could actually allow: setbacks, buildable area, adjacent conditions, sun, wind, and the spaces needed for daily life.

Instead of forcing a wide house into a tight footprint, the design moved vertically.

The stairwell became more than circulation. It became the center of the home, bringing light, air, planting, and movement into one shared volume.

This is where design matters most:
not only in how a house looks,
but in how it makes constraints livable.

Balai Ani is a small house, but a precise one.

Project Feature: Threshold House

The home is organized through a series of thresholds: moments of arrival, transition, privacy, light, and openness that shape how daily life unfolds.

𝗔 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗱𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀. 𝗜𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲.

At this stage, the work begins to move from intent into built form—where structure, geometry, and sequence are no longer speculative, but tested through actual making.

What appears resolved on paper is still calibrated in construction. Openings are measured against light. Mass is understood against terrain and trees. The logic of the house becomes more legible as it is built.

This is part of the work too. Not just the finished image, but the disciplined process that allows the image to eventually hold.

This project is shaped by a series of constraints—
orientation, structure, climate, and the way the house is meant to be lived in.

What appears as a simple corner is the result of those decisions being resolved into one continuous system.

In our experience, most conversations begin with cost.

It’s a fair question—but often asked too early.

Because before a number can be defined,
there are decisions that need to be made.

On space.
On structure.
On what matters—and what doesn’t.

These decisions don’t just affect how something looks.
They shape how it works, how it holds together,
and how much it will eventually cost.

So what you’re paying for is not just a set of drawings.

It’s the process of getting those decisions right—
early, and with intention. The difference is not always visible at the start but it becomes clear over time.

𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗟𝗗𝗕𝗘𝗫 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

Over the past few days, we had the opportunity to share a small selection of our work and the ideas that continue to shape the studio.

The booth was conceived less as a display and more as a space for conversation—centered around a single model and a series of drawings exploring architecture as a system rather than an isolated object.

In many ways, the exhibit was also an attempt to show the trajectory of the practice—where the work has been, and where it might be heading. It was encouraging to see visitors spend time with the projects, ask thoughtful questions, and engage closely with the ideas behind them.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the booth and shared the conversation.

This week, Pluszerotwo Architecture is exhibiting at WORLDBEX 2026.

The booth brings together a small selection of the studio’s work—built projects, models, and fragments of the ideas that continue to shape our direction. Rather than presenting architecture as a collection of objects, the projects explore architecture as a system: a way of organizing climate, behavior, and space into a coherent whole.

On display are selected works including Threshold House, Balai Ani and Air House, alongside traces of the research and mapping methodologies that inform our practice.

Not every project is meant for us.
And we’re not meant for every project.

Pluszerotwo Architecture does not begin with style.
We begin with context—land, climate, behavior, and purpose.
Before drawings, we ask questions.
Before form, we seek clarity.

We take time to understand what a building must hold, how it will age, and what it will contribute beyond its footprint. That means we may challenge the brief. We may slow the process down. We may choose restraint over spectacle.

Because architecture is not just about opening day.
It shapes how people live, gather, and move for years after.

𝘖𝘣𝘴𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘕𝘪𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘴: 𝘔𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘜𝘳𝘣𝘢𝘯 𝘉𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯 𝘔𝘦𝘵𝘳𝘰 𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘭𝘢’𝘴 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘴 has been selected for presentation under the Critical Essay category at the UIA World Congress of Architects 2026 in Barcelona, chosen from nearly 800 submitted essays worldwide.

Framed within 𝘉𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨. 𝘈𝘳𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢 𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘦𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, the research examines interstitial urban conditions through mapping as a systems-driven method—treating time, appropriation, and lived environments as active design tools. It positions the interstice not as leftover space, but as an active site of urban negotiation and change.

This work forms part of Pluszerotwo Architecture’s ongoing research trajectory, where practice, pedagogy, and inquiry operate as a continuous system.

The UIA World Congress of Architects 2026 will take place in Barcelona from 28 June to 2 July 2026. This global event will bring together renowned architects, researchers, and influential figures from diverse disciplines, inviting professionals in architecture and design to engage in dynamic dialogue and a collective exploration of future perspectives.

We often treat enclosure as separation—inside versus outside, architecture versus site.

Here, the edge is deliberately thinner.

The building is held against the landscape. Glass becomes a calibrated boundary rather than a wall, allowing light, air, and vegetation to remain present without being staged or framed as a view. The overhang tempers heat and glare, while the recessed plane creates shade and quiet.

This corner is less about transparency and more about negotiation—between shelter and exposure, stillness and growth, structure and the everyday conditions of the site. Architecture, in this sense, is not an object placed on nature, but a system that learns how to sit with it.
