The data gathering techniques in the field of surveying has evolved through time with technology, improving altogether the data quality.

Conventional techniques in the topographic survey is impeded by the obstructions of the line of sight making it difficult to cover vast areal extents at a short span of time and the data extraction is arduous.

These days, the LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) technology revolutionizes the way the society gathers data. The spatial information obtain can be accurate up to centimeter grade making it a valuable tool for a wide range of scientific, industrial and commercial applications. The data can be dense and its post-processing can be intensive. But the result is just as valuable as 'gold'.
