Approach: Fractal Planning, Levels of Spaces, Behavioral Mapping, Landscaping and Sensory Design

Scope: Site Development Planning and Comprehensive Design

A landscape beautification focusing on combining the serenity of Karesansui and Filipino’s vibrant Tropical-Barrio landscaping style.

The family compound is an expansive residence set within the agricultural plains in Isabela, widely recognized for its vast fields and deep-rooted agrarian identity. The development is composed of a main house supported by several auxiliary houses and structures, together forming a self-contained domestic landscape.

Designed as more than just a family home, the project serves as a gathering place, retreat, and sanctuary for close family and friends—embracing its rural surroundings instead of withdrawing from them.

Regenerative against Degenerative: Shared findings and experience over the years

Typical development formulas often destroy the ambiance of natural settings because they are poorly designed, with "efforts" spent on style, features, frills, and extras without any understanding of the actual design requirements. Regenerative Architecture for Agro-Eco Development explores the potential of built environments to enhance natural settings.

Regenerative Architecture identifies and merges the significance of environment, people and economy. By applying Regenerative Architecture principles, fundamentally agrarian cities and municipalities can develop towards a more positive paradigm. These principles include: (1) integration to landscape, (2) bold ecology, (3) intelligent construction, (4) intelligent limit, (5) culture, and (6) place while also considering several variables such as waste, water, and pollution management, impact of building materials and construction technology, energy management, water management, and relationship between people and site.

Unfortunately, such approaches can be "too idealistic" for many. But through professional practice and stewardship, we can slowly build a countermagnet against degenerative developments and move towards a holistic future.
