A modern minimalist approach to mausoleum design, where simplicity, proportion, and the quiet interplay of light and shadow create a space for remembrance.

Defined by clean angled lines and a seemingly weightless roof plane, the structure balances strong geometric volumes with softer natural elements. Textured stone, warm wood-toned soffits, and restrained neutral finishes give the mausoleum a sense of permanence while maintaining a calm and welcoming character.

The design explores a thoughtful play of solid and void. Recessed openings provide shade and create moments of transition, while vertical windows and breeze blocks allow natural light to filter through, creating subtle patterns of light and shadow throughout the day.

More than a structure for interment, the mausoleum is envisioned as a place for pause, reflection, and remembrance, where architecture remains understated so that memory takes center stage.

Saying goodbye to our OJTs as another summer break comes to an end. ๐Ÿค

It has become a yearly tradition at Espasyo to welcome young aspiring architects for their summer internship to share ideas, experiences, and lessons from the field, just as our mentors once did for us when we were in their shoes.

We hope you learned a thing or two during your time with us, and that youโ€™ll carry those lessons with you as you continue your journey in architecture.

This project involved renovating an existing two-storey residence to create a more functional and visually appealing home while keeping renovation costs practical. The design follows a modern minimalist style, featuring clean lines, simple forms, and a combination of neutral finishes, natural stone, and warm wood accents.

The renovation made use of the existing structure and architectural elements wherever possible, reducing the need for extensive demolition and reconstruction. The layout was refined to improve functionality and maximize the available space, while large windows and wide roof overhangs enhance natural light, ventilation, and comfort. The result is a contemporary home that reflects the ownerโ€™s vision while achieving a balance of functionality, aesthetics, and cost-effective design.
