Sheer House, an exploration on lightness within a dense urban setting.
Subdivision lots today are often the most accessible option for starting families. These compact parcels usually encourage owners to fully occupy the entire lot. In this case, we reconsidered that common approach and examined what spaces are truly needed.
We reduced the program to a minimum to allow for more open space that can function in multiple ways—whether for family gatherings or a quiet Sunday at home. The dining area is positioned as the most accessible for guests; Filipinos gather around food. Beside it, a paved open space serves as an outdoor extension.
To preserve privacy, the living area is treated as a family room. This also acts as a buffer zone for the bedrooms.
In a compact house, proper zoning becomes essential. In this case, less is more.
