Designing with Intention: OnPoint Idea Bar Season 2 Lights Up!

We kicked off Season 2 of the OnPoint Idea Bar in a major way! Our guest, Engr. Emmanuel Liston—a true "Square Peg" pursuing his Masters in Building Science at BCIT in Vancouver—brought brilliant insights all the way from Canada to our local design community.
Arie’s talk, smartly titled “Let there be (right amount of) light,” was a true eye-opener for everyone in attendance. He moved us beyond simple "rules of thumb," urging us to leverage technology to analyze a space’s specific requirements. He demonstrated how proper computation, when combined with design intention, provides the accurate, elegant solutions modern structures demand.
What We Learned: The power of “Shoe box” planning for maximizing natural light and ventilation.
Processing design problems in simple terms makes the entire journey exciting, not stressful. Through a deep dive into the Concert Properties Center for Trades and Technology (designed by Patkau Architects), we saw how intention and technology meet to create better buildings.
Arie showed us how design, when powered by simple technology and right intention, can feel less like calculation and more like true magic (or "sorcery" as one expert put it!).
We are so proud to host sessions like these. The OnPoint Idea Bar is a cornerstone of our studio’s advocacy to empower local designers and build design confidence. We want our local creatives to feel equipped, capable, and ready to make a difference with intentional design.

Attended a forum that truly challenged how we view the future of our urban landscapes, framing the current state of our cities’ design and, more importantly, what we can do about it as entrepreneurs and designers.

A heartfelt thank you to the organizers, Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and specifically to Ar. Richnold
Sia. For three consecutive years, you have consistently and tirelessly pushed the envelope, elevating the conversation around "Good Design as Good Business and Good Business as Good Design."

As we move forward, my hope is that we can find ways to extend the reach of these crucial conversations. I wish for this type of forum to be accessible and available to those often left at the margins—the talented "Architects from the Barrio" and other marginalized Good Designers—ensuring they get to experience and be an integral part of shaping the conversations that impact us all.

Let's keep designing for good and MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Three days ago, they were seven dedicated apprentices. Last night, they are seven licensed Architects.

For two years here at OnPoint Studio, these seven individuals chose the hard path. They toiled, got their hands ink dirty, and repeatedly banged their heads against that mysterious creative wall. But through the grit, we watched an incredible transformation happen: they shed the beginner’s mind and fully stepped into their creative minds.

Challenged with one question: “What would you do if you were not afraid?”—always pushing to MAKE A DIFFERENCE in everything they do.

Last night, the entire Square Pegs Tribe waited with bated breath. After four pizzas and several boxes of Mojos, the waiting ended, and the shouting and happy tears began.

OnPoint Studio is 100% once again!

A massive shout-out to our very own Top 4 and Top 5 board placers! You all raised the bar.
To our seven new Architects: Shanen, Borj, Khurtz, Heather, Aeron, Julia, and Jhave—it has been the ultimate honor to host your apprenticeship and watch you claim your victory.

You are officially Square Pegs out in the wild now. Go break the mold, disrupt the ordinary, and design a better world.

No moment is sweeter than a vision shared and realized.

We took the stage to celebrate the official launch of TRES, the third and final tower of our Balai Helena Panglao masterpiece. Following the rapid sell-out of the first two towers, introducing this final piece to the world felt incredibly special.

As an architect, there is no greater satisfaction than converting an abstract concept—a narrative—into a living, breathing space. The core of this project is deeply rooted in a simple, powerful truth: "No Place like Home." Sharing that story with our audience and feeling their genuine connection to the architecture and its purpose was a true full-circle moment for OnPoint as a designer. It is exactly why we do what we do.

It is always an absolute joy to dream, disrupt, and create alongside a visionary client partner. Thank you, BE Residences, for trusting our vision and allowing us to "go crazy" with you every step of the way!

And cheers to the entire Square Pegs team—the beautiful misfits who willingly got their hands dirty with us to craft this Obra. We couldn't have shaped this masterpiece without your relentless passion and grit.

BACK-TO-BACK WINS! 🏆🏗️✨

We are incredibly proud to celebrate two massive milestones! There is nothing quite like the feeling of seeing your blueprints come to life, let alone two at the same time.

🥇 WIN #1: Our 12-storey building at Balai Cordova has officially Topped Off! Reaching the highest structural point is a huge testament to the hard work of everyone involved.

🥇 WIN #2: We just Broke Ground on BeU Talamban! The foundation is officially being laid for this stunning 27-storey condominium. A new chapter begins! Yey!

We are so incredibly proud to be part of the storied journey of both of these projects. From the drafting table to the skyline, thank you to our amazing partners for making this happen!

7 Years, 0 Round Holes : Square Pegs ready to BreakOut!

OnPoint Studio hit the BIG 7 back on April 29, and yeah, we’re a little late to the party, but last night's celebration dinner was absolutely lit! Got all the Square Pegs together to feed our creative souls, talk shop, and vibe over what really drives us: pure, unfiltered passion and out-of-the-box creativity. (Because fitting into round holes? So not our thing.)

BUT THE REAL HIGHLIGHT! We finally dropped the beer on our upcoming team outing. It is officially BREAKOUT themed... and we’re taking it to a WHITE SAND BEACH!

Time to literally break out of the mold and escape the city. Sun, sand, and solving puzzles by the ocean? Say less. Consider this tropical escape hacked.
