The Barnacle.

This piece brings a touch of organic geometry to the waterfront. While you sit and enjoy the ocean breeze or dive into your favorite book, you’re also invited to learn about the tiny giants of the sea.

The installation serves as an educational hub for the barnacle—the resilient arthropod that thrives in the harsh, rhythmic world of shallow tidal waters. It’s a place to rest, a place to learn, and a place to appreciate the small wonders of our ecosystem.

"DUYOG,"
meaning "Accompaniment" or "Harmonious Blend," is an artwork that embodies Cebu's nature, culture, and artistry. It features intertwined guitars and ukuleles reflecting Cebu's musical heritage, flowing curves representing ocean waves, and the use of real shells linking to coastal beauty. Silhouettes of mangoes and corn highlight agricultural bounty, while rattan weaving showcases local craftsmanship. The inclusion of metal contrasts permanence with impermanence, inviting viewers to reflect on the evolving nature of culture and its artistic expression.
