Hospitality spaces are not just a place for accommodation, they are environments where architecture, art, culture, and human experience come together.

On this project, we thoughtfully designed the spaces to communicate a strong sense of place, create emotional connections, and leave lasting memories for its guests.

Through the integration of artistry, cultural identity, and inspiration, this resort transform ordinary spaces into meaningful experiences that reflect both their surroundings and the people who inhabit them.

Equally important is cultural identity, we designed this project so it would represent the history, traditions, craftsmanship, and values of their location. Rather than simply copying traditional motifs, we interpreted culture in contemporary and meaningful ways.

Local materials, indigenous craftsmanship, regional patterns, traditional techniques, and cultural narratives we incorporated into architecture and interiors while maintaining a modern hospitality experience.

This hotel project is internationally recognized for combining refined hospitality with the warmth and graciousness of Thai culture. When developing this branded hotel in the Cebu Philippines, we see this project as design opportunity to create a destination that expresses the character of a Thai hotel brand while responding authentically to the local environment and culture.

Designing this hotel for a luxury brand requires more than creating a visually impressive building. It requires the careful integration of architecture, interiors, landscape, hospitality operations, and cultural identity into one coherent guest experience.

𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 “𝗕𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗘𝗰𝗼-𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻” 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗼, 𝗕𝗼𝗵𝗼𝗹 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀.

Surrounded by lush greenery, native plants, and tropical landscapes, we designed this boutique resort to create a relaxing atmosphere where visitors can enjoy the beauty of nature while experiencing comfortable and sustainable accommodation.

By choosing native plants, the resort reduces its environmental impact and preserve the natural character of the area. Native plants provides food and shelter for birds, butterflies, bees, and other wildlife. They are also well adapted to the local climate, which means they often require less water and maintenance.

This resort features native trees, flowering plants, shrubs, and grasses throughout its gardens, walkways, cottages, and recreation areas. It considers sustainable habits such as conserving water, reducing plastic waste, using renewable energy when possible, and properly managing waste.

“𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲 + 𝗕𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱”, 𝗘𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗮 “𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿.”

Located at the heart of Cebu City, Philippines, this project describes the brand essence as “𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲 + 𝗕𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱”, with comfort as the central brand idea. The brand design direction is essentially “𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿”, a hybrid between a serviced apartment and a hotel.

The design philosophy builds around an international brand with utmost efficiency and contemporary hospitality. The guest shouldn't feel like they are entering a generic hotel room, instead, the experience should suggest “𝗜 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲.”

The brand identity uses calming blue tones combined with neutral oak hues. The oak tones are deliberately connected to warmth and comfort, while the blues communicate calmness, stability and reliability.

Not overly luxurious or flashy. The luxury is more about comfort, functionality and quality.

𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻

A hotel is more than a place where guests stay, it can also serve as a representation of the history, traditions, values, and artistic expressions of a particular community. By incorporating cultural identity into interior design, hotels can create spaces that are meaningful, memorable, and connected to their location.

In this project, we express cultural identity through the use of traditional materials, patterns, colors, and craftsmanship. Local materials such as wood, stone, woven fibers, ceramics, and natural textiles can reflect the environment and heritage of a region. Traditional patterns and motifs may also be incorporated into carpets, wall treatments, furniture, curtains, and decorative elements.

Local craftsmanship is another important element of culturally inspired hotel interiors. Handmade furniture, artwork, textiles, pottery, and other decorative objects can showcase the skills of local artisans. This not only strengthens the visual identity of the hotel but can also support local communities and preserve traditional crafts.

A culturally responsive hotel interior does not simply decorate a space with traditional objects; it tells a story about the people, history, and environment of the place, giving guests a more memorable and authentic experience.

Hospitality design is more than creating attractive hotels, resorts, or restaurants. It is about designing spaces that provide comfort, functionality, and memorable experiences for guests.

On this hotel project in the South of Philippines, we create a unique identity by integrating local culture and heritage into the design. This allows hospitality spaces to reflect the history, traditions, and values of a destination while offering guests an authentic cultural experience. Incorporating culture and heritage into hospitality design helps preserve local identity and creates a strong sense of place.

Instead of using generic or international styles, designers can celebrate the uniqueness of a location by highlighting its traditions, architecture, craftsmanship, and natural environment. This not only enhances the guest experience but also supports cultural preservation and promotes sustainable tourism.

Guests today increasingly seek meaningful travel experiences. They want to connect with the local community, understand its history, and experience its traditions. Hospitality spaces that incorporate cultural elements often leave a lasting impression, encouraging positive reviews, repeat visits, and stronger destination branding.
