FYI FRIDAY: How is a Project Computed?

Ever wondered how we know if a project is on track?

It's not just about how much is DONE, it's about how much it COST.

1. % Accomplishment
% Accomplished = (Actual Work Completed / Total Project Scope) x 100

2. Actual Project Cost
The real amount spent to date — materials, labor, equipment.

3. The Real Computation: Earned Value
Earned Value = % Accomplished x Total Contract Cost

We compare Earned Value vs. Actual Cost Spent:

If Earned Value < Actual Cost Spent → Over Cost / Behind
If Earned Value > Actual Cost Spent → Cost Efficient / Ahead

EXAMPLE:
Contract Cost: P10,000,000
Accomplished: 60%
Earned Value: P6,000,000

If you already spent P7,000,000 for that 60%?
You're P1,000,000 over — that's the variance we monitor.

Thousands of years before pa nauso ang "sustainable design," people were already catching rain using timba ukon banga.

Kag sa Pinas? Ay, wala gid na nag-untat! Basta mag-bunok ang ulan, automatic may balde na sa idalom sang atop. Indi na tulo — libre nga tubig na ya! 😅🪣

Subong gin-pa level up lang ni Architect. We now call it "rainwater harvesting system" — same balde logic lang man, pero sosyal nga version. Pang bunyag sa garden, pang hugas, kag pang-save sa water bill.
