Renovation project in an upscale subdivision in Angeles, Pampanga.

The challenge was to modernize the home’s essential systems — upgrading the plumbing and electrical works, replacing the original wood roof trusses with metal, and refreshing the exterior with a textured paint finish.

The layout, however, was preserved out of respect for its sentimental value, as it was originally designed by the client’s mother. Fortunately, the plan was already architecturally sound. Our only spatial interventions were opening up the kitchen walls and enhancing the connection to the setbacks — allowing more light, air, and openness into the home while honoring its original soul.
