VACANCY: Contracts Manager

General Construction, Civil, Bulk Earthworks, Effluent ponds, Forestry, Roading, Land Clearing, and Drainage

The role will suit an individual with experience in the Earthworks and Civil Construction Industry.

The successful applicant will be expected to oversee multiple projects simultaneously within the Southland Region (at times Central Otago or Otago).

Key knowledge of the industry and experience in dealing with schedules, consents and variations are integral in the effective and timely delivery of these projects.

Typically the role is split with half of the time spent in the office dealing with the necessary contract administration and documentation, with the remainder of time spent on site.

Attention to detail and the ability to multitask are imperative, as well as experience with Microsoft excel (and the other MS programmes) and attribute writing skills are required.

In addition, the successful applicant must be prepared to participate in a hands on position. You may be required to carry out a physical role when required while working within a team environment.

The successful applicant must possess excellent communication skills, have a good sense of humour, and be prepared to undergo pre-employment drug and alcohol screening in line with company policy.

2025 is looking promising already; we have started the year with full books and we have had 4 new staff join our awesome...

2025 is looking promising already; we have started the year with full books and we have had 4 new staff join our awesome team.

At the end of 2024 and over Christmas, our crew removed the trees and demolished the old school on Bainfield Road and have almost finished levelling the land, ready for our client to create a new subdivision (Contact Carl @ Jennian Homes if you are on the market).

At the same time, we started works on a 2-stage upgrade at James Hargest College. Prefab buildings had been moved to their new homes and we have been working on trenching for the electrical, comms and water connections as well as creating the footpath and concrete ramp bases, all while removing trees, levelling the land and removing bricks and pavements. Stage 2 will include a brand new 2-storey building and will commence as soon as Stage 1 is opened to the school at the start of term 1.

The rest of our team has been kept busy at the Kaiwera windfarm and we have just started our annual run of stripping of quarry overburden at various local quarries.

The team at Kaiwera will then move to the Fonterra site to start earthworks on the Fonterra UHT build. This will be a great project which should all of our crew will have a chance to work on and we are looking forward to breaking ground!

OPERATORS WANTED FOR UPCOMING PROJECTS WITH IMMEDIATE START IN THE NEW YEAR.

Location: Southland

Our upcoming projects range from site works, roading construction, earthworks and demolition; we are seeking a few people to join our team:

🚛 Truck Drivers - Class 4/5 (experience with transport trailers, tipulator units and truck and trailers an advantage), we could look at class 2 with the desire to learn.

🚜 Machine Operators - Experience in a range of sizes of Excavators, Bulldozers, ADT's, Graders, Tractors, Skid Steers (or all of the above) an advantage.

🦺 Labourers / General Hands - Happy to be on a rake, shovel, broom, plate compactor, tape measure, excavator spotter and all that's in between!

We would ideally like experienced people, ready to hit the ground in the new year, however the right attitude is equally as important, so give us a call if you would like a change!
