Early finish on the postie run so I got to play with flowers in the afternoon.

Sowed more successions of marigolds, matricaria, and my first lot of zinnia. Spring is surely here 🌱

Stunning day!

The tulips are still pumping out the blooms, love this colour combo.

It sure was a wet wintery weekend 🌧

Muddy horses, sodden sheep, and boggy gardens.

First job on the list was collecting hay and baleage from a local farmer, grass has slowed here so supplement feeding begins!

I spent time in the potting shed dividing dahlias, potting on seedlings, and checking germination of my phlox and scabiosa seeds. Looking good!

Marmalade was made from our over abundant orange tree, and an orange cake is being baked today 🍊

I think I will have tulips for sale this week, exciting! 🌷

More excellent mail arrived today, seeds from my mate at Flowerford Farm.

So I tucked myself away in the potting shed and sowed a few trays of scabiosa, statice, sweet peas, and strawflowers.

In-between showers I transplanted out some matricaria and poppies, and potted up some passionfruit vines.

Progress 👌

Lambs are doing well, with a tinsy tiny girl being topped up with a bottle every few hours.

Get the fires stoked friends, frost cloths at the ready, the cold is a-coming!

The next few days will be icy 🥶

It was a frosty start in our little valley this morning. 2 degrees when I left for work!

Tulips love the cold, and are happily growing and filling out the crates they are in. The over-wintering snapdragons, matricaria, dianthus, and other cool hardy annuals are looking great 🫶
