Pest control isn’t always about covering ground once — sometimes it’s about having something working when we’re not there.

Automated trapping gives us another tool for ongoing pest animal control, particularly across areas where maintaining consistent pressure is important.

Good pest control comes down to using the right method for the site, target species and end goal — not trying to make one method fit every job.

A little bit about the people behind Hunt & Harvest 👋

We’re Molly & Anton, the pair behind Hunt & Harvest.

What started as the two of us wanting to build something of our own has grown into a contracting business that gets us into some pretty incredible corners of the Bay of Plenty.

We specialise in environmental and land management work — from pest plant and pest animal control to planting, monitoring and everything in between.

It’s a bird… it’s a plane… nah, it’s our drone 😂

A pretty handy bit of gear to have in the toolkit.

Thermal surveys, pest monitoring, mapping, inspections and covering those hard-to-reach spots — all while giving us a pretty good view from above.

Safe to say we’re finding plenty of uses for this thing 👀🚁

Some of the Hunt & Harvest team have four legs. 🐕🌿

Working dogs are an important part of how we operate in the field, particularly when it comes to locating pest animals through dense native cover.

They can access country, use scent and pick up activity that we’d never be able to replicate with people alone — making them a pretty valuable member of the crew.

And they absolutely love their job.

Precision planting in action 🌱📍

Putting GPS technology to work on a recent farm planting project.

Each planting location was drone mapped as an individual GPS point, allowing our team to accurately set out thousands of plants across the site with consistent spacing and alignment.

The result — an efficient planting process, accurate placement and some seriously satisfying rows.

There’s something rewarding about seeing native plants head out to their forever home. 🌿

Every tray represents healthier waterways, stronger biodiversity, and a step towards restoring our landscapes for future generations. From propagation through to planting, we’re proud to be part of the process.

Whether it’s riparian planting, revegetation projects, or creating habitat for our native wildlife, every plant makes a difference.

If you’re planning a native planting project this season, we’d love to help.

Why install traps?

Rats and possums have a significant impact on New Zealand’s native wildlife, forests and productive land. A well-designed trap network provides ongoing pest control, helping to protect biodiversity, reduce browsing damage, and keep pest populations at low levels through regular monitoring and servicing.

Protect your land. Protect our native species.

Contact Hunt & Harvest today to discuss a pest control programme tailored to your property. 🌿
