Lots of bunches of tulips left us to join you in your homes- I hope they make you smile.😃

Was so nice to catch up with some old faces and meet lots of new ones too!
I loved hearing all about your gardens, your plans for the season- they say gardeners live longer don’t forget. 😆

In the shop this week: 192 Bells Road, Friday 2-6pm, Saturday 8am-6pm

Plants: tomatoes $3 or 2 for $5, capsicum, zucchini, pumpkin, raspberries, red sunflowers and lots of herbs and rare perennials

Produce: spring onions, sprouts, spinach and mixed lettuce, eggs, hazelnuts

Flowers: Tulip SPECIAL. 1 bunch for $20 or 2 for $35

Plus all our regular goodies in our shop! Lavender products, crochet cloths, candles, blind date with a book, sandwich bags.

🌷 The Grand Spring Hand-Off is happening this weekend only! 🌸
Our fields are buzzing and our highly anticipated Peonies are officially ready to take the spotlight! To make room for the new crop, we are sending our final, beautiful Tulips off in style this Friday & Saturday.
Because we need the stall space immediately, we’ve upgraded our signature bouquets with a limited-edition special to fill your home with colour before they’re gone for the season!

✨ THE SPECIAL TRANSITION PRICING:
• Score two of our Grab and Go bouquets for $35 (normally $20 each)

📍 Where: 192 Bells Rd, West Melton
⏰ When: Friday 2-6 pm & Saturday 8am-6pm or until sold out.
💵Payment: Cash or bank transfer at the farmshop.

We have hundreds of stems to move, but once they are gone, they are gone for the year. Pull over, grab a bunch, and help us make room for the peonies! 👇

Tulips are a flash in the pan. Here for a few weeks of the year and then gone again.
I guess it’s partly what makes them so special but I also love a couple other things about tulips.

Did you know that they continue growing after you pick them? That’s right- they actually get taller in the vase!

Did you know that flower growers like myself pull out the whole flower bulb and all? We do this to get long enough stems for bouquets. This also means that the bulbs need replacing every year as the food source has been cut off.

Did you know that tulips have an insanely fascinating history? If you’ve seen the film Tulip Fever, you’ll know what I’m talking about. A crazy period in history where individual bulbs were selling for outrageous prices, fortunes were made or lost on these flowers within the space of a handful of years. Good movie- you should check it out.

We have tulips for 2-3 more weeks depending on fast they sell out.

Our first Flower Society bouquets went out last Saturday and they were such fun to make!
Dreamy double hellebores, tulips, anemones and orange blossom.
Looking forward to this week’s combo with new colour blooming in the field

The Wide Sky Flower Society is a seasonal flower subscription, told one bouquet at a time. Each month, members receive four beautiful bouquets inspired by a bookish theme and gathered from what’s blooming on the farm. Expect changing colours, favourite flowers and a little surprise each week. A new chapter for your vase, all season long.
