Homes we’d be proud to call our own.

That’s the thinking behind every Oughton Home. We’re Amy and Andrew, a family-owned building and development business in West Melton, creating thoughtfully designed standalone family homes across Selwyn.

For us it comes down to the things you notice every day: real materials, honest craftsmanship, light and space that suit the way a family lives, and the finishing touches that make a house feel like home. Andrew’s hands-on approach and our family’s care go into all of it.

Dreaming of an Oughton Home for yourself and your family to enjoy? We’d love to hear from you.

OUR LATEST OUGHTON HOME IS COMPLETE 🏡

We are incredibly proud to introduce our latest Oughton Home in West Melton Canterbury, a brand-new family home, crafted with care and now ready for its next chapter.

From breaking ground in February to completion at the end of August, this home has been built by Andrew himself, alongside the incredible group of trusted sub-trades we are fortunate to work so closely with.

This home has been thoughtfully designed to feel warm, welcoming and practical, with spaces that bring people together while still offering room to relax and unwind.

The exterior combines timeless materials with contemporary detailing, creating a modern yet enduring finish that sits beautifully within its surroundings.

Inside, warm timber details, a soft neutral palette and carefully selected finishes create a home that feels current without being driven by passing trends. Every detail reflects the thought and craftsmanship Andrew brings to an Oughton Home.

We build homes we would be proud to call our own, places we can genuinely imagine living in, raising our family and making memories. We hope the next owners will love this one every bit as much as we do.

The home is now on the market, with open homes underway!

For full listing details and upcoming open-home times, see the link in our bio or check the comments below.

Come and experience the craftsmanship of an Oughton Home for yourself. And who knows , perhaps one day, we could create one for your family too.

Introducing Oughton Homes.

After many years as IT Building, we are proud to share the next chapter of our family business.

While our name and logo have changed, the experience, craftsmanship and commitment behind the business remain the same. We have kept our original black, white and red colours as a tribute to where we began, while creating an identity that better represents who we are today, and where we want to go.

Oughton Homes is a family-owned residential building company based in Selwyn, led by Director and builder Andrew Oughton.

Andrew brings a highly skilled, practical and hands-on approach to every project. Rather than focusing on volume, our goal is to build a select number of thoughtfully designed, beautifully finished homes, with care given to the details that make a house genuinely work for family life.

For us, building is personal. We want to create quality homes that feel considered, functional and made to last, homes we would genuinely be proud to call our own.

The move from IT Building to Oughton Homes brings our family name to the front of the business and reflects what sits at the heart of everything we do: family, craftsmanship, quality and pride in every home.

Same experience. Same commitment. A new name that feels much more like us.

Welcome to Oughton Homes.

Touch rugby season is nearly here, and this year, Oughton Homes is proud to sponsor The Crushers!

After two years of Andrew coaching Oscar’s rugby team, Oscar was keen to keep his teammates together during the off-season so they could continue developing as a team. When he asked Mum and Dad to help create a touch team, we didn’t hesitate.

Andrew will be sharing his experience, Amy has designed the team tops and will manage the team, and Oscar will be out there playing alongside his mates—a true family effort.

If you’re part of the West Melton touch competition, keep an eye out for these tops and our new branding as we transition from IT Building to Oughton Homes.

Family is at the heart of our business, and we’re proud to support our young local players. Bring on the season! 🏉

As the sun sets, the textures and materials really come to life, giving this home a character that’s both modern and enduring.

We can’t wait to share what’s waiting behind the front door… 👀
