A bit of ash and smoke around this morning, the ash can impact your Pool water balance as ash contains high Alkaline particles, it will strip the chlorine out of your pool and may add phosphates, also make sure you backwash more to avoid clogging in the filter.

Often foreign particles get into your pool either from swimming or from airborne particles and rain, so it is important to keep your pool balance.

As Spring departs with unsettled weather, time to sort your Pool for the summer.

Kiosk is Opening Labour Monday 10 til 2, further days and hours are still being worked out but the Lockbox works 24-7 so make use of that.

Due to Worksafe compliance some products are not displayed in the Kiosk, mainly Tabs and Chlorine granules so just ask if you don't see what you want.

We have made a few subtle changes and added a few new things along with a few new products that some have been trialling for us.

Remaining Kiosk hours for Feb

This Friday 20th and Saturday 21st the kiosk will not be open at all.

Kiosk will be open Friday 27th 12 - 5 but closed Saturday 28th.

You will be able to access the lockbox for products and water testing will still continue to be done.

Depending on weather we will decide what days we open the kiosk in March but the plan is to still do the Friday afternoons

Calcium hardness is another crucial factor, particularly in New Zealand’s diverse water conditions. Too little calcium, and your pool becomes aggressive, eating away at surfaces and equipment. Too much, and you’ll notice cloudy water and unsightly scaling on tiles and fittings.

You don’t have to be a hard core cricket fan to take advantage of these outings, we attended a few last year and was a great way to chill out and relax, always kids playing cricket or rugby on the bank family having picnics etc a great time out at reasonable price.

With the heat and the wind around take extra time with your Pool

Filter longer or just run continuously to keep the chlorine up.

Check water level as evaporation will increase with the heat and wind

ANTS

During the last week I’ve found an ant infestation in a Spa and this morning a Salt Chlorinator, a timely reminder to keep vigilant and get rid of these pests !!
