The land blocks were originally leased to the Crown and planted in forest, with the stumpage shared between the Crown and the Trust at harvest. The Trust provides a range of grants and benefits to t

🌲HE PĀNUI: REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS - Winch-Assisted Ground-Based (WAGB) Harvesting, Tūrangi

New Zealand Forest Managers (NZFM) is a specialised forest management organisation that has operated since 1989, providing commercial forest owners with a comprehensive range of services across forest establishment, development, protection, investment, harvesting and marketing. NZFM invite registrations of interest for a Winch-Assisted Ground-Based (WAGB) harvesting programme within NZFM-managed forests, predominantly in Lake Taupō Forest near Tūrangi.

The work comprises a three-year harvesting programme, primarily in second-rotation pruned radiata pine stands previously harvested using conventional tractor-based systems. We are seeking an experienced contractor who can deliver excellent health, safety and environmental performance while maximising mechanisation, operational efficiency, and value for our forest owners.

Please email your details to Matt Owen [email protected] to register your interest.

Registrations of interest close 04/09/2026.
