We are delighted to share some key milestones on the ongoing transformation of Rangitaiki College:

🔺Front of School: The first phase of the rebuild is now handed over and fully operational.
🔺Reception & Administration: A secure, contemporary front office providing an open, functional gateway.
🔺Student Wellbeing: A purpose-designed wellness centre configured to support holistic pastoral care.
🔺Staff Facilities: Upgraded workrooms and planning areas built to foster collaboration.
🔺Specialist Classroom: Specialised space tailored for individualised learning support.

Our next stage is already underway, and we have demolished an existing classroom wing & begun construction of a new entrance lobby/office to the Food Technology block.

We look forward to sharing more updates as the development progresses.

Last weekend team Marra took part in Tauranga Boys College annual Fortress 40 fundraising event where students take part in 40 hours of physical activity to raise funds and awareness for men's mental health.

Supported by Movember and the Bay of Plenty Rugby Union, it was great to be able to support the event by participating alongside the students. A few pulled muscles, but happy to be involved!

Work completed at 9 Owens Place, Mount Maunganui.

We've just wrapped a full commercial refurbishment on this high-profile site, right on State Highway 2 at the Bayfair interchange.

Highlights:
Façade overhaul: A full exterior refresh built to maximise visibility and signage potential on one of the region's busiest transit corridors.

Flexible dual-level floorplates: 646 sqm total across two 323 sqm levels, served by an upgraded entrance foyer, ready for single-tenant or dual-tenant use.

Fitout-ready base build: Stripped-back, open-plan, natural-light spaces with treated substrates (including polished concrete options) — clean slate for tenant fitouts.

Modernised amenities & infrastructure: Full rebuild to A-grade commercial standard, plus on-site parking for 14 vehicles.

A proud delivery from our team — turning a prominent Mount Maunganui site into an adaptable, future-proofed commercial asset.

Thanks goes out to our project partners EML, FDA Archtects, and Ngai Tukairangi Trust

Projects we're proud of: Comvita East Wing

This was a 3,500m² custom-built warehouse and logistics facility on Comvita's head office campus at Paengaroa, the central hub for their global Mānuka honey operation.

Working with Tauranga's Jigsaw Architects and other project partners, we delivered a facility that does the hard work quietly. The roof carries the Bay of Plenty's largest solar array, enough green electricity for 53 New Zealand homes. Inside, an intelligent ventilation system draws in cool night air to regulate temperature, removing the need for refrigeration. There's a dedicated honey sampling room and wide covered canopies for weather-protected truck loading.

What makes it sit differently with us is that the design, civil drainage and construction all came from Bay of Plenty businesses. Local build, local pride.

Marra Construction successfully delivered a comprehensive facility upgrade at Cambridge Middle School, modernising key learning and amenity spaces to support the school's educational environment. The scope of work centred on the complete reconfiguration and refurbishment of existing toilet facilities into modern, accessible unisex cubicles, supported by upgraded plumbing, enhanced ventilation systems, custom joinery, and accessibility improvements. Additional works included high-durability floor and wall linings, new commercial-grade aluminum joinery, carpet replacement in teaching areas, specialised acoustic wall treatments in the Art Room, and the general renewal of ancillary spaces.

We’re proud to partner with another proud Bay of Plenty business, Marra Construction.

As the Steamers and Volcanix battle it out on the field, Marra Construction are right at the heart of the try-scoring action, helping build the moments that get our fans on their feet.

Over the past 45 years, Marra has established itself as one of the Bay of Plenty’s leading commercial construction companies. Despite their growth, community remains at the heart of everything they do, and supporting rugby in the Bay is one of the key ways they aim to give back.

We’re excited to have Marra Construction on our side!
