♻️ Recycling Week is 19-25 October, and Refresh Renovations - Tauranga are proud to support it!

This year's theme is "Identifying Opportunities", and for us that starts with the humble recycling bin.

On our renovation projects, here's how we keep recycling front of mind:

🗑️ Separate bins on site for recyclables and rubbish
📦 Flattening cardboard and sorting packaging as we go
🔩 Keeping timber, metal and offcuts out of general waste where we can
✅ Checking what's accepted locally, so the right things end up in the right bin

Getting it right matters. Putting the wrong items in a recycling bin causes contamination, and that can stop good materials from being recovered. Rules vary between councils, so it's worth checking your local guidance before you toss something in.

Why not take a look at your own bins this week? One small change can make a real difference.

Got a room in your home that never quite feels bright, no matter the time of day? ☀️

Dark, boxed-in spaces are one of the most common frustrations we hear from homeowners here in Tauranga — and often, the fix is simpler than you'd think. Adding a window or skylight can completely transform how a room feels, bringing in natural light and making even a small space feel bigger and more welcoming.

And here's the thing — this doesn't have to be a standalone job. Whether it's one dark corner that needs sorting, or you're ready to take on a full room or whole-home makeover, we can scope it all as part of the same project. That's the beauty of working with a dedicated Project Manager from day one — every detail, big or small, gets handled together.

If you've got a room that's crying out for more light, let's have a chat about what's possible.

This made me so happy on one of our project sites today. One of the things I love about my renovation business is the opportunity to travel all around wider Tauranga, checking out the most stunning views and the gardens, and depending on the length of the renovation, the change of seasons.

Spring is my favourite season, what's yours?

p.s. did you spot someone in the window - busy laying carpet!
