Imagine waking up to this every morning – horses grazing right outside your window. 🐴

For Di and Barry, that's exactly how their new rural Tauhoa home was designed. The main paddock is visible from the kitchen, living spaces and bedroom, so that view is part of everyday life, from the first coffee in the morning to winding down at night.

It's been such a special journey watching their plans come to life, from the early planning stages right through to handover. As Di told us during the build: "It's so exciting to see the framing for our new home taking shape and to watch our plans become a reality. We've been very pleased with the Landmark costing process and the realistic allowances provided from the outset. It's reassuring to have everything clearly considered upfront, with no surprises along the way."

Can you spare 2 hours to help animals in need?

At Landmark Homes, we're proud to support the incredible work of SPCA, and they're currently on the hunt for volunteer street collectors for their Fill the Bucket Street Appeal, taking place on 30 and 31 October across New Zealand.

Just two hours of your time (or more, if you're keen) helps raise vital funds that go directly towards caring for the thousands of animals SPCA supports every year.

Here's what's involved:
🐾 Volunteer on Friday 30 or Saturday 31 October, working in pairs at a collection site in your local area
🐾 Collect donations from members of the public
🐾 Collection buckets, bibs and stickers are all provided
🐾 Bring your dog along too, just remember their water bowl and bags

Every dollar raised through the Fill the Bucket Street Appeal supports animals in need, making it one of SPCA's most important annual fundraisers.

For years, moving south of Auckland meant accepting the drive.

The first weekday train out of Pukekohe now leaves at 5.11am and arrives in the city by 6.24am. Paerātā has its own station too, the first new station between Papakura and Pukekohe in more than 50 years.

But the station is only part of what's changing in Franklin, and it may not be the biggest part.

Teamwork really does make the dream work! 🩵

Do Good Day was a chance to roll up our sleeves and give back, with a day spent helping out at Point Chevalier School.

There was plenty to get stuck into around the grounds, and it was fantastic to support a school that means so much to local families.

Thanks for having us, Point Chevalier School. We loved every minute of it.
