FAST TRACK MECHANICAL HAS MOVED.

Jamie and the boys have opened a new shop in Taupo, across from the skatepark 81 Tauhara rd, Taupo Open for all/any public, forestry gear/servicing, warrant of fitness and general mechanical work.

Jamie and the boys specialise in Forestry gear from Tigercat, Sumitomo, Cat, Woodsman, and more recently Waratah, Timberpro, John Deere.

They have a dedicated WOF mechanic to make sure your vehicle, work ute is safe for travel.

FALL and PROCESS POSITION AVAILABLE

Taupo based operators need only apply(vehicle purposes)

Our road line crew is looking for a person capable of managing the falling and processing position in Kaingaroa Forest.

The crew produces between 270-300tn per day. The falling is approximately 10m along each side of the roads they are working, with all wood pulled to a suitable area to process plans are made according and the crew has a great reputation with the system they run.

Must have experience in both tasks. All regular checks apply.

New Steel for Nooke and the Crew at 057!

The time has finally come to retire the old Sumitomo 350 after an impressive 23,000+ hours of hard work. It’s been a long time coming, but operator Nooke — who never complains and always gets the job done — is keen to see how the new Cat 558 stacks up against his trusted Sumitomo. Big change ahead, but well deserved!

Another successful get together at the workshop today. We are a bit late now to call it a safe start. We had to postpone our original date it but we got it done. It was a good afternoon with all the crews getting together and meeting/catching up with our new teams. We have of changes in the last few months so some good yarns were had. With National certs awarded with the help of Jan from Competenz and our Bragging Rights Quarter 4 2025 and Overall winners for 20Terra Catced with prizes from Ron and gifts sponsored by the Terra Cat teams Mark Costello and Wayne Baker, we also announced some EROAD prizes to some deserving crews and a couple of spot prizes donated to us by Shane. Good to have John from KT along to get to see more of what we do.
Thanks everyone for coming in and/or for being a part of what we hope is helping in some way to build a good environment/team. Congratulationsto all the winners and NZC cert recipients, you earned it, these aren’t just given, you worked hard for them.
Today also marks the day Brook completely takes over Thunder Logging. Gone but not forgotten pal. We are always here to help. Well done.

We are deeply saddened to share the passing of our friend and team member, Nat Warena.

Nat was an awesome member of the team and will be remembered for his laughter. Nat was the type of guy you could always depend on. He will leave a big hole in the team.

Our thoughts are with Nat whanau, and loved ones during this difficult time. We extend our sincere condolences and will honor his memory within our team.

Rest in peace Nat. You will be greatly missed.

Due to personal reasons one of our shovel bunching operators needs to hand his notice in(immediate start possible).

Job involves bunching, roadside clean up and potentially a bit of loading.

Also recently promoted to crew foreman in the new 053 Stems crew was Harawira Wilson.

Hara has been with us since 2017. He until recently had been the operator of the Tigercat 855 fixed felling machine for 057 and now is running a Cat 568 and Waratah 626HX. He is a consistent winner in the Bragging Rights competition and knows all the ins and out for stem logging from working with his 057 foreman Nooke.

A hard worker who we all knew was the undeniable candidate for the position. So far, he has proved us all right as 053 has started out really well and you can see the drive Hara has to make 053 an excellent team.

Well done Hara and welcome to the 053.
