There's a lot more to choosing materials than picking the ones you like.

How they work together is just as important. From the direction of timber grain to the way cabinetry meets a benchtop, it's the smaller decisions that help create a beautifully considered space.

At Graft, we're thinking about these details long before anything reaches the workshop.

Swipe through for a closer look at what goes into getting the details right.

Work smarter. Get a Grafter.

Good joinery starts long before anything is built.

It starts with asking the right questions, understanding how a space needs to function and using years of knowledge and craftsmanship to find the right solution.

That’s what working with a custom joinery specialist brings to your project.

Thoughtful design. Experienced craftsmanship. Made for the way you live.

You’re thinking about how it will look. We’re thinking about everything else.

Will the drawers clear? Where will the appliances live? Can two people comfortably use the space? Is the storage actually where you need it? How will it work five years from now?

Great joinery comes down to asking the right questions before anything is built.

Swipe to see what’s going through a Graft joiner’s head when we’re designing your space.

This is where an idea starts becoming something real.

Our client came to us with a sketch for a custom timber addition to their existing kitchen island, and from there, it was over to the Grafters.

Crafted from solid American white oak, here's a behind the scenes look at the making process, from raw timber to a completely bespoke piece, destined for its new home in Queenstown.

We’re not just about cabinetry. We love custom timber projects too.

Have something in mind? Bring us the idea and let’s see what we can create.

The kind of kitchen and scullery you want to spend time in.

Light-filled, open and designed with plenty of room to gather, whether it’s a quick breakfast at the island, dinner being made or a house full of people.

The scullery becomes a seamless extension of the main kitchen, adding valuable storage and workspace while keeping everything connected and easy to use. Together, the two spaces create a kitchen that’s functional, practical and designed around everyday life.

From the full-height cabinetry to the generous island, every detail has been considered.

Clean design, clever functionality and a kitchen made to be lived in.

Another Graft project complete.

Think custom joinery automatically comes with a big price tag?

That’s one myth we’re happy to clear up.

There’s a lot more that goes into the cost of a kitchen than simply choosing custom, and some clever decisions can make a bigger difference than you might think.

Swipe through before you rule custom out.

The finished project is pretty satisfying. Feedback like this makes it even better.

There’s a lot that goes into creating custom joinery, from those first conversations and design decisions right through to making, installing and the final details.

Being trusted to bring someone’s ideas to life is something we never take for granted.

Thanks for the kind words and for choosing Graft.

Small space? Make the walls work harder.

Built-in shelving is a simple way to add valuable storage without taking over the room. Designed specifically for the space, it can turn an unused wall or awkward area into something practical, considered and completely integrated into your home.

Because sometimes you don’t need more space. You just need to use it better.
